Diamond
Cold as coldest cold can be;
colder than the blackest sea;
packets of black energy,
energizing you and me.
But with some heat, pressure, and time,
there'll be more than coal within this mine;
the hardest substance known to man,
to you all women are a fan.

Dog Threats
You left your ball upon the ground,
go pick it up you stupid hound!
I throw it and you look at me,
the essence of stupidity!
The dumbest dog in all the world;
now go and fetch the stick I hurled!
Pick it up and bring it back,
or I'll have you neutered!

Clandestine Oysters
Many fathoms below the sea,
hard, beshelled, and clandestine,
oysters wait eternally,
hoping never to be seen.
There, submerged in murky pools,
underneath a rocky cave,
concealed by ancient sunken jewels
from pirate ships of yesterday.
Hoping never will they drift,
become exposed and found by man;
until the next tectonic shift
their only friends remain the clams.

The Yard
Blood congealing on the carpet,
footsteps leading to the land;
police are searching for the culprit,
the culprit who has killed again.
The killer hides in shades of gray,
hoping never to be seen;
for he has killed again today:
not even God could save the Queen.
The days have all merged into one;
reality a thing of dreams;
forty-five days on the run,
pulling me apart at the seams.
The end is near, the battle lost,
for I can run no more.
I lay enveloped in the frost,
just seconds from death's door.
